Best use

A course companion sits beside a course a reader is already taking. Its job is to hold what the lessons cannot: the reference material, the summaries, the worked examples and the space to apply each lesson before the next.

02

Recommended structure

Mirror the course. One chapter per module, in the course's order, each opening with the module's outcome in one sentence, then the key points, a worked example and an exercise the student completes before moving on.

03

What a finished version should include

A contents page that matches the course syllabus, consistent chapter openings, exercises with room to answer, and a closing chapter that ties the modules together. Six to ten thousand words is usually enough; it should not repeat the lessons.

Worked example

The plan the studio would build for The Quiet Ledger

A course companion planned the way the structure above says, in the order its contents page would show. Every line is an editable chapter in the studio.
