Privacy

What we store

• Your email address, to sign you in with a link and to send receipts. There is no password.
• Your books: the brief, the outline, every chapter, the cover settings and artwork, and any material you paste or upload to write from. They are saved to your account so they open on any device, are visible only to you, and are deleted when you delete them.
• Plan and usage: which plan the account is on, how many outlines, chapters and covers it has used this period, and the payment provider's customer and subscription ids that connect the account to its payments.
• Billing records are held by our merchant of record, named at checkout and on your receipt. We never see your card number.
• Operational logs: request timing, error metadata, which model wrote a chapter or drew a cover, the funnel's planning answers (how the writing has gone so far, hours a week, a deadline) and the daily counts of each funnel step. Logs should not contain manuscript text.

What we do not store

Passwords, card numbers, your contacts, or anything from your device beyond what you type into the studio. The unfinished funnel is kept on your own device (one localStorage key) until the outline is built.

Who else sees data

Each provider processes data only to do its job:

• Language-model providers (Kie, and Cloudflare Workers AI as the fallback) receive the brief, the chapters needed for context and any material you supply, to write and translate text.
• Image-model providers (Kie, Cloudflare Workers AI) receive the cover artwork description. Every description is first screened by a content-moderation service, which receives the description text.
• Our payment provider (a merchant of record, named at checkout), for payment, receipts and subscription management; and the moderation service above.
• Resend, for the sign-in and receipt emails.
• Cloudflare, which hosts the service and stores your books and account.
• Meta Platforms, while we run ads on Facebook or Instagram: the pixel on the public pages reports the page viewed and the three funnel events named under Cookies, never the brief or the book.

Do not submit confidential information you would not send to these providers. Model providers are instructed not to train on the text they receive; we cannot audit that ourselves.

Cookies

One essential cookie, set after you open a sign-in link, keeps you signed in for thirty days. While we advertise on Facebook or Instagram, the public pages and the /start/ funnel also carry the Meta Pixel, which reports page views and three funnel events (outline requested, checkout opened, payment completed) to Meta so we can see whether an ad worked; it never loads in the studio and never receives your book. No analytics suite. The cookie notice names every cookie and how to block the pixel.

Deleting your data

Delete a book from the shelf and it is gone at once, artwork included. To close the account, write to support@buildanebook.com from the account's address; books and account data are deleted within 30 days, and billing records stay with our merchant of record for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights and contact

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or its deletion at any time: support@buildanebook.com. We answer within two business days. Build an Ebook is operated from the domain buildanebook.com; the same address reaches the people who build it.
