A $9.99 book on KDP pays about $6.99 a copy at the 70% royalty, so 5 copies a month cover Studio. A translated edition in any of 8 languages is one more book of the allowance.
Questions about the plans
What counts as a book?+
One brief taken to the files: the outline, every chapter with as many rewrites as it needs, three cover artworks, the exports and the listing pack. A translated edition is a new book on the shelf and counts as one; so does book two of a series. Rewriting a chapter of a book you already made does not.
What if I need a fourth book this month?+
Either Studio Plus — 8 books a month for $49 — or one more book for $9, bought once, kept on the account and spent only after the month's allowance. Top-ups never expire.
Do unused books roll over?+
No. The allowance resets on the first of each month (UTC), and a book you did not start is not carried over. A top-up book is different — it stays on your account until you use it.
What does the free plan write?+
During early access every account runs as Studio, free: 3 books a month with every chapter, every export and every cover. When the store opens, the free plan becomes one outline with its first two chapters, and the books you made stay where they are.
Can I cancel?+
Any time, from your account. A plan runs for the period you paid — a month, 3 months or 12 months — and cancelling stops the next charge; unused time is not refunded. Within 30 days of a first payment we refund it in full if you have not exported a finished book, and a renewal within 48 hours.
Who owns the books?+
You do. Everything you export is yours to publish, sell or give away, on any store or from your own site — the studio keeps no rights in it. What stays with you is the responsibility: the facts, the rights and the marketplace's rules.
No payment is collected during early access. Prices in USD, published in advance; the terms carry the refund conditions that apply when the store opens.
