Where each tool starts
Perplexity starts from a question and returns an answer with citations. The studio starts from a brief and returns an outline. They are different moments in the same project: research before the outline, and fact-checking after the draft, are where an answer engine earns its place.
What happens after the draft
An answer engine leaves you with answers and links. The studio leaves you with chapters you can edit and rewrite one at a time, a cover set in type, and PDF, EPUB and DOCX files. The claims in those chapters still need checking — the studio's guides say so on every page — and that check is exactly the job Perplexity is for.
Which workflow fits whom
Use Perplexity to research the subject and to verify the facts, numbers and names a draft contains before you publish it. Use the studio to plan, draft, design and export the book. A workflow that runs research → brief → draft → verification → export uses each tool for what it is.
