Where each tool starts
Designrr starts from existing material — a URL, a document, a recording — and repackages it. The studio starts from a brief and produces new chapters against an outline; it is also a fine way to turn old posts into a book, but by rewriting them into chapters rather than importing them.
What happens after the draft
Designrr's strength is the range of inputs and outputs, including flipbooks. The studio's exports are three — PDF with cover and contents, EPUB 3 with a cover image, DOCX with headings — and the cover is set in type on a grid with optional artwork. Note that KDP no longer accepts MOBI for fixed-layout books; the studio exports EPUB for Kindle.
Which workflow fits whom
Someone with a back catalog of posts, transcripts or recordings to package should look at Designrr. Someone with an idea and no manuscript, or with posts that need rewriting into a coherent book rather than converting, should use the studio.
