Where each tool starts
Copilot starts inside your documents and apps; a book would begin as a Word document you steer with prompts. The studio starts with a brief and an outline, and drafts chapters against that outline in a voice chosen once.
What happens after the draft
With Copilot the manuscript lives in Word, and formatting for a store — an EPUB with a cover image and navigation, a paginated PDF with a contents page — is a separate job. The studio exports those files from the same chapters, and also a DOCX with real heading styles for anyone who then wants to keep working in Word.
Which workflow fits whom
Choose Copilot if your writing already lives in Microsoft 365 and you want help inside those files. Choose the studio when the deliverable is a book file for a store or a lead magnet, and you want outline, drafting, cover and export in one place — then open the DOCX in Word if that is where you edit.
