Where each tool starts
Claude starts from a blank message. You bring the structure, and the quality of the book depends on how well you carry the outline through a long conversation. The studio starts from a five-part brief and builds the outline first; every chapter is then drafted with that outline attached, in a voice you chose once.
What happens after the draft
In a chat the draft is yours to copy, format and assemble. In the studio it stays as chapters: rewrite the weak one, reorder, add a chapter, edit a paragraph in place, then set the cover and export PDF, EPUB and DOCX from the same source. The exported EPUB carries a cover image and a navigation document; the PDF has a contents page with real page numbers.
Which workflow fits whom
Use Claude directly when the work is research, argument, or a single piece of writing you will place yourself. Use the studio when the output is a book file for a store, a lead magnet for a list, or a workbook for a course — and when you want the model choice handled for you: the studio tries a Claude model first and falls back to others if that channel is unavailable, so a draft is never blocked by one provider's bad hour.
Common questions
Straight answers
Does the studio use Claude?+
A Claude model is the first writer it tries; if that channel is unavailable it falls through to Gemini and then to an open model. Which one wrote a chapter is logged, not hidden.
