How it works

You search the keyword on Amazon's Kindle store and copy six observations: how many results, the Best Sellers Rank of the first and the tenth book, how many of the top ten have 100+ reviews, how many come from major publishers, the newest publication year and the median price. The tool scores demand (both ranks under your "selling" threshold), competition (review counts and publishers), openness (a recent book in the top ten) and price (the median inside the 70% royalty band). Amazon publishes no table from rank to sales, so the rank threshold is an assumption you can change; nothing is fetched from Amazon.
